I was tempted to try another SWAP 2014, (Sewing With A Plan )  but have decided to spend my sewing time ‘clearing out’ all the UFO’s.  Often when there is a bit of fabric left over  I will cut out a shell or T shirt. And sometimes when I ‘m not in the mood for sewing I cut out and interface a new project.  This happens when I have the house to myself and can use the kitchen bench as a cutting table and the dining table for everything else.   Lots of space to get organised.  Anyway,  I have a few to0 many projects waiting in plastic bags….it is time to sew or toss .

This is one of my favourite  dress patterns OP Burda 7515.  The pattern contains two simple, easy to wear   styles that are just right for hot summer days summer, with their straight shape and lots of ease  This is the fourth time I have made this pattern,  both styles twice and this one has been in the UFO pile for a while;  forgotten,  pushed to the back,  waiting to hemmed…..  Sometimes a sewing projects seem “sew themselves” the pattern and fabric are just made for each other and all goes well.  This was not one of those projects.  I was really indecisive about the style and just managed to squeezed it out, and was not entirely happy with the pattern placement.

I remember the fabric being on the formal dining table …….Somebody took up residence……

Snazzy, AKA "The Grey Lord", ''Prince Rotton"

Fabric was a cream polyester with a printed  “lace’ motif” arranged in bands.   The neck and armholes have been finished with bias binding and  French seams for the side seams.  The red version of this view has been made rayon .  View B is my favourite.  I made the navy version first from a heavy silk crepe and cream crepe.
